Euromillones Loteria International

On the 28th of December my girlfriend received a letter from the Euromillones Loteria International
Below is a copy of the letter sent

How do I know this is a scam?

  • Firstly the letter is not directly addressed to my girlfriend, and she has never entered any lottery.
  • Secondly all of the logos on the letter have been scanned into the computer.
  • Thirdly the letter heading, is that word art with a drop shadow? On an official letter?
  • Fourthly, why would the winning participant have to give 10% of their winnings to Global Fortune Security S.A.?
  • Fifthly, don’t even get me started on the “claim form”!

I’m not sure what to do with this now, do I send the “claim form” back with fake details, or just tick the box asking to be paid by a certified cheque?

The letter asks for the “award” to be kept away from public notice until the claim has been processed and the money “remitted to your nominated account”

So what better place to announce that my girlfriend has won €615,810 (six hundred and fifteen thousand eight hundred and ten euros only) shared among seventeen (17) international winners with 10% taken off, than my blog!

That’s €32,601.71 (thirty two thousand six hundred and one euros and seventy one cents) or £23,940.91 (twenty three thousand nine hundred and forty pounds and ninety one pence)

WooHoo! We’re in the money! Lol!

Until the next scam,
Stay safe!

Update! One of the commenter’s, Nick, has set up a Facebook group, if you would like to join its called I’ve received a letter from Euromillones Loteria International.

Xmas over for another year!

Christmas was alright! I didn’t get up until about 10, and then mum had to go out, so we didn’t get to open our presents till after dinner

This is what I got this year:

I think that maybe I should start shaving, as I am now building up a nice collection of aftershaves, and I don’t want to let them go to waste!

Thats it for this post now!

Merry Christmas and a Hapy New Year

Its Nearly Christmas!

This time next week it’ll be Boxing day, and Christmas itself will be over for another year!

The past week has been quite busy at work, the warehouse has been in a complete and utter state, and still is!
We just keep on getting stock, and nights just keep on not working all of it! And not working any of the back stock!

As for Christmas shopping, I’ve very nearly finished, I just need to get my girlfriend one last thing and thats her finished!
The last thing to do is wrap it all, thats a job for Christmas eve night! Lol!

The Christmas card count has reached seven, two of them from relatives, and another two are made out to both me and my girlfriend!

I think thats just about it for now.

Until next time,
Merry Christmas

Second Christmas Meal

Tonight is my second Christmas meal, the first was last night which was the Grocery meal, tonight is the Warehouse/GM meal.

The meal last night was alright, they give out big portions of meat! And then I piled on the vegetables! I only just managed to finish it!
Before that there was a starter, I chose the soup, and for after I had the Christmas pudding.

The soup was alright, vegetable I think! But the Christmas pudding was only a small square on a big plate, and the piece I had was rock hard, I couldn’t even cut it with a knife!

Tonight I’m having the same, but I chose a different pudding, apple pie with custard!

I’ve done a bit of Christmas shopping, I managed to get something for everyone! But I’ve not entirely finished yet!

I’ve now got 15 minutes to get ready for the Christmas meal!

Till next time,
Merry Christmas

Its December Already!

Its been two weeks since my last post, so whats been happening?

For a start I managed to get search working on Linux Links, so thats all well and good

I have also added a couple of other features to the site.

The first feature is being able to browse by hostname, unless two or more pages in the database come from the same host then there is no way to access it, and that’s deliberate!

The second feature is a status checker, which basically checks if the page can be accessed every day, and the results of that are displayed on the url page.

Its Sunday now, I started this post on Saturday but had to go out before finishing this post!

Now that it is December I’m working more hours at work. I am now working six days a week and have Mondays off.
That means that I’ve got Christmas eve and New Years eve off, so that’s a good thing!

It’s December which means that obviously I haven’t even started Christmas shopping yet!
And like usual I don’t have the foggiest what to get anyone!

Staying with the Christmas theme, one good point to working out in the warehouse is that I don’t get to listen to the endless Christmas songs repeated countless number of times throughout the day!
Also, I’ve got 2 Christmas meals to go to this year, the first on the eighth is the Grocery Christmas meal, and then on the ninth is the Warehouse and GM meal, at the same place!

Thats it for this week!
See you next time!

The past week

Friday was Children in Need, and the big waxing took place in ASDA.
Unfortunately I missed Scott getting his legs waxed, but I have been told he chickened out and only had one leg waxed!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I had an email from Schmap saying that one of my photos had been nominated to be included in the forth edition of their Bristol guide.
I got an email from them Saturday saying that my photo was included.
You can view it here.

Now for more news about Linux Links, I was working all day Saturday to try and get search working, but it just wasn’t going right!

I was copying code from phpBB, and from a couple of tutorials from the Internet, I was even using the MySQL search functions, but none of them produced the results I was after.

I now feel sorry for the pigeons working at google!

Search is still not working, but I have a new plan to try, it involves splitting the search string, searching for each word separately!
I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!

Till next time
See you!

linux-links.co.uk

I may of mentioned one of my other websites one or two times before, but today I have got Linux Links up and running!

Its over at linux-links.co.uk
It is dedicated to links to all things Linux related, and is in its infancy!

It is a website full of links to Linx related articles and websites, which are all browseable by tags for ease of use

What you see is basically the fully working website, it still needs a few tweaks to get it running smoothly, but its all there and functioning. Well, apart from the admin section! Lol!

I need to add a couple more sections, like a news section, and add some extra functionality to it, such as search, rating, and popularity!
I am also thinking of adding a user section, so that visitors can add their own Linux links to the database.
And I’ve still got about another 70 links to add from the old site.

So why not head on over and tell me what you think of it!

Schmap

I got an email from Schmap Monday saying that

one of your photos has been short-listed for inclusion in the
fourth edition of our Schmap Bristol Guide, to be published
mid-November 2007.

I got the email Monday, but I didn’t read it until today.

I have submitted the photo, one of the ones from Bristol Zoo, to the final selection phase.

Now I just have to wait, I’ll be sent a message when the guide is released to let me know if my photo has been included in the Bristol edition.

Woohoo! 😀 I cant wait!

Saw 4

You may remember last November I went to the cinema with a *special* friend from work to watch Saw 3, this year I went to the cinema to watch Saw 4 with my girlfriend!

Saw 4 starts off where Saw 3 finished, with Jigsaw being cut open in a pathologist lab. And a tape to the new game is found in his stomach.
But the end of Saw 4 finishes the same as the end of Saw 3!

At the start we see the body of one of the victims from the last film being discovered, the woman who had her chest ripped apart.
A new person is then part of the game, and goes around town saving people, and letting them save themselves.

Its all a very straight forward Saw movie.

But its the end, we see the end from the previous movie being shown again, that man finding his wife, the wife getting her head blown off, and Jigsaw and his accomplice dying.
Then one of the people from this films game, he must be the one that is going to carry on Jigsaws work, then shuts the man in the room.

Also in this film we get to see Jigsaw before he became Jigsaw, and how it all started!

This film is not as gory as the last film, but is a must see if you’ve watched the previous Saw films.

Thats it!
Happy Halloween
